I'm Yi‑Chen Lin
Candid, warm photographs lit by the street itself.
About me
I'm a documentary photographer from Songshan in Taipei. I've photographed the same few streets for more than ten years, and I love the moments between poses: a laugh with your mouth full, a glance across a crowded stall.
What makes me different
No flash, ever
Only lanterns and stall lights, so your photos look the way the night felt.
I grew up here
Raohe is my neighbourhood. I know where the light is at every hour.
No posing needed
You walk, talk and eat. I catch it as it happens.
My style
In four words
I love photographing
