A Moment in Taipei · After dark
Lantern Hours
Feels like a night out, not a photoshoot.

The Story
We'll meet at the temple gate at the end of Raohe Street, just as the lanterns come on. From there we wander the market at your pace: you browse, taste and laugh, and I follow the light.
I don't use flash. The red lanterns, bare bulbs and steam from the pepper-bun ovens do all the lighting, so your photos look the way the night actually felt. You don't need to know how to pose. I'll tell you where to stand when the light is good. We finish by the river, away from the crowd, with the whole market glowing behind you.

We're both awkward in photos, and within ten minutes we'd forgotten the camera was there. The shots of us sharing a pepper bun under the lanterns are the best photos anyone has ever taken of us.
I travel alone a lot and never have photos of myself. It felt like walking the market with a local friend, and the colours in the gallery are incredible.
So much fun, and the photos by the river at the end were our favourites. It was very crowded on a Saturday, so we'd pick a weeknight next time.
